Day 4
We went
from the Swiss Alps to the French Alps in one night. They were incredibly
different but both equally amazing. We stayed in a small ski town called
Autrans. When we arrived late at night it was like a ghost town. We were
convinced that no one actually lived there. But the next morning when we headed
out for breakfast we were surprised with how alive it was. People were heading
up to the slopes (though where they found snow, I’m not so sure), people were
walking their dogs, people were buying bread for the day. It was such a relaxed
atmosphere, I loved it! We had a lot of fun exploring the shops in Autrans, they were authentic rather than touristy. I’m pretty sure some of the best
items we brought home were from this adorable town. Also, they had some of the
best hot chocolate. And we tried a lot of amazing hot chocolate from a lot of
different places…

Some of the
beautiful things we saw:
Icicles
covering the mountain side.
The water
is pouring out one spout, and the next, it’s frozen.

The river flowing next to road is crystal clear.
The road
goes through a small hole cut into the mountain.

France is
gorgeous! And this is just the beginning.
