We are officially grown up!

Tristan and I had a busy day getting everything done to have our loan go through. Tristan hasn't been sleeping well for weeks because of the stress. As many of you know my husband is on a 1099 Form rather than the simpler W-2 Form. I could write a whole post on why this made looking for a home so difficult but maybe we will save that for another day... On top of that, he switched companies about a year and a half ago because his old company ended up being a little shady (any of you in the summer sales business? If so, you know how important it is to find a good company.) Anyways, long story short, no one wanted to risk giving us a loan because we are paid on commission and haven't been with the company for two years. It was frustrating because my husband works so hard and makes decent money, plus we'd been saving for a house for over two years! Finally, we found someone willing to work with us (First Colony Mortgage, if you're on a 1099 Form they are amazing to work with! And no I don't get anything for saying that, we were just extremely impressed with everything they did for us.) the only problem was, they needed our taxes from this past year to get the loan. Okay no big deal, we just have to file taxes the first possible day (today), pay all that we owe, give confirmation that we filed our taxes to the loan guys so they could finalize the loan and then sign all the paperwork to close on our house! There were so many places that things could go wrong. It was a stressful day but...

We are officially home owners! I feel 10x more grown up than I did just yesterday :)

I've had requests for pictures of the inside of the house so here we go. These were all taken before we moved anything in yet. Let's be honest, we probably won't be fully unpacked for months...

My very own kitchen :) We bought the fridge today and are in the process of buying a gas stove (Tristan's #1 Must-Have). So if anyone is in need of a stove, we are selling a brand-new electric stove!

Can you imagine eating breakfast here every morning? Sigh... I love natural light so of course this is my favorite room in the house.

And the side of the yard that needs a bit of work... But, the good news is, originally we thought that our property line was the stake with an orange flag on it (on the left side of the house on the left). We always wondered how that worked because it would have done some major curving from our front yard but that's what we had been told. When we got the appraisal about a week ago we noticed that the property line was definitely not curved so we went back to the house to investigate. Turns out our property line is a stake near the swing set behind the house on the left! We aren't complaining about having an extra 30 feet for Kacee to play in!
