fall break in * l a k e p o w e l l *

Lake Powell is my happiest place on earth. I wish I could take anyone who has never been on one giant trip so that they could understand the pure joy too.

This trip was so different than any in a long time. One: it was October & chilly. Two: we were trying to decide when the last time we camped was... we're guessing about 10 years ago. Three: it was just the little family of six missing Andrew, Ashley, Ki, & kids. Four: it was a little shorter than we typically like but we'll take what we can get.

It was absolutely perfect.

Highlights include but are not limited to:

• campfire & s'mores
• dutch oven peach cobbler
• skipping rocks
• driving the boat through the canyons, it's beautiful!
• sleeping in a tent
• tristan's birthday
• waterskiing in the best water of the season!

My not so favorite things include:

• going to the bathroom in the wilderness with snakes, mice, spiders, & bats. oh my!
• getting out of the water, ever.
• the fact that they weren't serving soft serve ice cream at the marina.
