i have had quite the busy and stressful week.
normally i like to read on the ride to school on trax.
today i was feeling down,
so i purposely tried to disconnect myself from the world by putting headphones in.
the train pulled up and i followed the crowd inside.
i spotted a seat and headed towards it.
the lady sitting in the seat across from me had her feet on the seat.
this bugged me because...
a. there are signs everywhere saying don't put your feet on the seat,
b. common courtesy, other people have to sit where your dirty feet are,
c. i had to sit next to them and she didn't even move them when i went to put my backpack there,
d. it just wasn't a good day, basically anything could have bugged me at that moment.
i sat down anyways and continue to block out the world.
all of the sudden i notice the lady making gestures with her arms.
i pull out my headphones expecting to be told that i dropped something.
"where did you get your coat??" she asked.
"oh i have no idea it has been way too long..." i replied.
"it's not this year's line then?" she said.
"no..."
"well it is so cute! i love it!"
wow.
a. i totally misjudged her.
b. the effects that that one compliment had on my day were incredible!
moral of the story: i should never judge someone from one glance and i want to be the nice person that offers a smile or a kind word to brighten someone's day.
thank you kind lady on the train!
