What better way to welcome the last month of the summer then by camping?

Here is our story:
We left Friday afternoon for Pineview Reservior. Little did we know, that when we got there we would drive through 10 different campgrounds only to find that EVERY SINGLE ONE was full. We drove circles trying to figure out where we would stay the night. [no really... we arrived at the reservoir around 6:30 p.m. and we didn't find our campsite until 10:00 p.m.] We even found a few spots off the side of the road that we were convinced would have to do at the rate we were going. It was getting dark as we headed to our last destination, our last hope. It was supposedly called Monte Cristo but it was so far up the canyon that we weren't even sure it existed at that point. Long story short, we found the campground and the perfect spot. This campground way up in the mountains was absolutely gorgeous and it was quite secluded. We set up camp in the dark. Started our fire. Ate tine foil dinners & S'mores. And we had an amazing night.

Our Motto: Good luck or bad luck, who knows?

We spent hours around the campfire talking with Kat & Danny. We finally decided we should head to bed around 2:00 a.m.

Worst. Idea. Ever. 

It was so cold! Tristan and I haven't snuggled that much in years but his body heat was the only thing keeping me from turning into a popsicle. I wasn't even praying to fall asleep, I was just praying that the sun would finally come up.

Of course the sun did finally come up... and I think I may have even fallen asleep for an hour or so. That morning we got to play games while the dogs roamed free in the wild. Seriously, it was puppy heaven for Kacee & Collie. Our campsite was away from any other people and it was enclosed by the woods. The dogs explored all morning.

Meet Collie. He is Kat & Danny's dog and Kacee's new best friend.

Mid-afternoon we decided to head back down the canyon to the lake. It was actually starting to get hot! The drive up the canyon the night before was gorgeous. The sun was setting and we could tell that there were trees everywhere. The drive down the canyon was even prettier. We could actually see how gorgeous it was. Pictures didn't do it justice so I took a bunch of videos instead. Once we made it out of the canyon and back to Pineview Reservior we found a beach that would allow dogs & spent the rest of the day there.

The dogs spent hours playing in the water. They were so fun to watch. Collie had endless energy and Kacee wasn't used to being the one to get tired first. They fetched their frisbees, swam around, & played together. Seriously, they are so cute.

When they finally crashed, they took naps in the shade of the trees while we played a few games of Spike Ball. It was such a fun trip. We failed at getting any pictures of all of us... but thanks for a great trip Kat & Danny!
