Because I have a tendency to be a home body, I always try to make a list of things I want to do when we visit a new place. Otherwise it's easy for me to get stuck at home and Tristan has so little time off, we have to take complete advantage of the few Sundays we get.
So here is my
Philadelphia Summer Bucket List
[ ] Take Mckai to the Please Touch Museum
[ ] Explore the Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse
[x] Ride the carousel at Franklin Square
[ ] Go to summerfest at Blue Cross Riverbank
[ ] Go to an event at Eakins Oval ("Philadelphia's own 'Avenue des Champs-Elysées'")
[x] Lounge in a hammock at Spruce Street Harbor Park
[ ] Go on a hike in Wissahickon Valley Park
[ ] Do yoga at Race Street Pier
[x] Visit Rittenhouse Square
[ ] Visit the art museum and take Mckai up the Rocky steps for his first time
[x] Revisit Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell (hopefully with my mom and Shay)
[x] Take a picture by the LOVE statue
[x] Go shopping at The Reading Market
[x] Go to story time at Barnes and Noble in Rittenhouse as often as possible
[ ] Take Kacee to a dog park
[ ] Walk the oldest street in America - Elfreth's Street
[x] Eat an authentic philly cheese steak
[ ] Find the best spot for taking a picture of the skyline
[ ] Spend a weekend at Niagra Falls
[ ] Go berry picking
[x] Visit New Jersey to spend time at the beach
[ ] Visit Hershey, Pennsylvania and spend a day at the amusement park
[ ] Take a weekend to see New York City with Tristan
[ ] Experience Philly's BBQ Fest
[ ] Go to the Philadelphia LDS temple open house
If anyone has any other suggestions for things that we must do, let me know! I don't want to miss anything :)
