our summer home, sacramento!

As I'm sure you've figured out by now, we have settled into our home for the summer here in Sacramento! I don't have to use my GPS to get to petsmart and the grocery store so I'm pretty much a local by now! :)

Our favorite things so far: living close to a walking trail, play park, dog park, and splash pad. Our least favorite things so far: the fact that you have to pay for bags at every store, buying case loads of bottled water because tap water here is gross, & the number of black widows we've found outside our front door. Overall though, we are loving life out here!

As always, here is my bucket list for the summer!

[ ] spend a Saturday night at The Barn
[ ] float the American River
[ ] explore the California State Fair at the end of July
[ ] take an old fashioned photo with all the guys in Old Sacramento
[x] visit Fairytale Town
[ ] take Mckai to Funderland Park
[ ] explore the Sacramento Children's Museum
[x] take Mckai to see the animals and ride the rides at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
[ ] go pick strawberries at Harris Tree Farm
[ ] let Mckai play indoors at Busy Kidz, Wacky Tacky, and Sky High when it gets too hot to be outside.
[x] spend a hot day at Raging Waters

And here is my travel bucket list! These things are a bit of a drive to get to so we will probably wait until the weekend to do them with Tristan. But while we are so close (in comparison to if we were in Utah :) I hope we will get to cross a few of them off the list!

[x] see the Redwoods and the Sequoias
[x] take Mckai to the aquarium in Monterey and explore the beach town
[x] spend a day at the boardwalk in Santa Cruz
[ ] go boating at Lake Tahoe
[x] explore San Francisco and walk the Golden Gate Bridge - see herehere,
[ ] go hiking in Yosemite National Park
[ ] see the lighthouses at Point Bonita and Point Reyes
[ ] take pictures in the Cypress Tree Tunnel while visiting Point Reyes
[ ] take a flying trapeze class in Sonoma
[ ] celebrate our anniversary with a weekend visiting Big Sur
[ ] visit Placerville to go river rafting

if you have anymore recommendations, feel free to send them my way!
